Our Wilmington replacement cabinet drawer fronts feature 2 5/16" vertical stiles and 1 1/2" horizontal rails in the popular Shaker design. For the Wilmington Shaker style drawer front, is it inappropriate to have that style with a drawer front that is only 5 1/2” high because of the rail and stile size? Do people order slab fronts with shaker doors?
that's a great question!
If the height of the drawer front becomes too small then you tend to lose the look of "shaker" as the recess panel will be very small. At 5 1/2", you should be OK as our minimum height for this style is 3 3/8".
Customers do use slab drawer fronts with shaker...We do have a shaker slab option so if you have shaker style cabinet doors then you can match with either standard shaker drawer fronts or shaker slab fronts.
